A second Mustang

Although I had not intended on owning two mustangs, I now do.  Let me revisit the process I went thru.

Earlier this year I had talked my wife into letting me purchase a Mustang as a pleasure vehicle that i could play with and get my hands dirty with.  She agreed under the condition that it was a convertible.  I have no problems with that.  :)

While looking we came across a really nice looking 95 Mustang that was laser red and had tan leather interior.  Needless to say this car was at the top of our list and was at pretty much the top of our budget for buying a pleasure car.  There was only one problem.  The car was owned by a 17 year old girl (well her grandfather actually).  She needed to find another vehicle to replace this GT Mustang because it was too fast for her.  Or at least that is what we were told.  (more on that later)

A few months had passed and we had not heard anything from this girl on the car.  I just assumed that she decided that they were going to keep the car and I decided to start looking again.  At this time I had found the 86 mustang that you have probably already read about in my earlier blogs.  I decided to buy that car and the rest should have been history...

Well, wouldn't you know it after a couple months she called and said she found a new car and was ready to sell.  I should have just told her that I already purchased another vehicle and let it go.  The problem was we were too enamored by how good the body condition of this car was and it appeared to run and ride good.  They were asking about 75% of the blue book value from a private seller.  I just couldn't pass it up.  I figured at worst case scenerio, I buy it, sell it and make a profit.  :)  At least it is good in theory.

Well, now I have 2 mustangs and not enough room to store all of our vehicles.  I figured we could manage with that.

Here is where everything starts to get interesting.  Stay tuned for the next installment...  "The problems started on the way home"

I am going to make an attempt to give an update at least once per week.  This will provide some how to posts as well.
